Had an enjoyable musical evening at the @singaporechineseorchestra’s (SCO) fundraising gala dinner last night.
The SCO has a unique challenge – to both preserve traditional arts, and forge its own distinctive identity. It weaves in elements of Southeast Asian culture with traditional Chinese instruments and music. It has in large measure succeeded, reaching music lovers across diverse backgrounds and cultures.
As patron, I’m pleased to see the SCO celebrate its 20th birthday. Also happy that the SCO has raised $1.5 million this year! A big thank you to the donors, for contributing generously. Your support keeps the arts flourishing in Singapore. – LHL (MCI Photo by Kenji Soon)
