@askmott visited with goats at a riverside organic farm on the outskirts of Vang Vieng, in central #Laos. This small town between the capital, Vientiane, and the @unesco #WorldHeritage town of Luang Prabang, was little more than a farming settlement 2 decades ago. Most houses didn’t receive electricity until the late 1990s, and the roads were largely mud tracks. Eventually, it made its way onto the international tourist map, for it river tubing. Today, that industry has made Vang Vieng much more crowded, and a bit rowdy — it’s made headlines over the years — but that’s all easy to escape.
