Sauli Vanhapiha, right, and Jukka Feodoroff soaked in a hot tub after a sauna. Lapland, in northern Finland, is best known for its association with Santa Claus, and of course, for its snowy white beauty and wintertime northern lights. But in the summer, the place is a photographer’s dream, offering more than 20 hours of daylight. @kirstenluce traveled to Finland to take photos for @nytmag’s Voyages issue, an annual collection of photo essays from around the world. She wanted to feel what it was like to “tromp through forests that seem as if they grew out of someone’s imagination.” Visit the link in our profile to see more of @kirstenluce’s photos from the area, which she describes as making you feel like you’re on “the wild fringes of Europe.”
