Over the centuries, the Camino de Santiago, a route in northern Spain, became one of the most recognized walks on earth — still up there today with the Incan trek to Machu Picchu, the climb to Mt. Fuji and the Appalachian Trail. This spring, the photographer @raymondmeeks walked the road and found an unlikely connection between his own pace and what he saw through his lens. “I had been doing a lot driving and photographing — looking for details that would draw most of us in, sucker shots really, that would stop any passerby,”@raymondmeeks told @nytmag. “So I wanted to walk and enter a rhythm where you see something that you normally would not encounter when moving at a faster rate.” @raymondmeeks is one of 6 photographers whose journeys are featured in this week’s @nytmag, the annual Voyages issue.
