The intersection of Houston Street and Bowery has become one of New York City’s most crowded corners. There are about 150 people there at all times — New Yorkers of every age, race, shape and size. Made out of stencils, these people appear on the Houston Bowery Wall, a mural finished last month by the artist @loganhicksny and photographed here by @yeongimage. “Story of My Life” is just one of a countless number of murals — both privately commissioned works and publicly funded pieces — that you can find around the city. This mural “contains friends, family and people I personally know around New York,” @loganhicksny said, “meant as an homage to all the people who have gotten me to this point in my career.” The 70-foot-by-20-foot piece of art contains 1,050 stencils weighing a hefty total of about 800 pounds. Visit the link in our profile for a list of other must-see street art around the city.
