I was happy to host Cuban Vice-President Marino Alberto Murillo Jorge yesterday. He is here on an S R Nathan Fellowship.

Mr Murillo is in charge of Cuba's economic restructuring, transforming its centrally planned economy into a competitive market economy. He is interested in how Singapore has grown and prospered, and how we manage our government linked companies.

But as he told me, each country is different, and Cuba has to find its own way forward.

We pick up ideas from others wherever we can, and we happily share our own experience with others who find us interesting. We are all learning from one another. :) - LHL (MCI Photo by Terence Tan)
