Had productive discussions with PM Дмитрий Медведев (@ドミートリー・メドヴェージェフ) today. We took stock of our good relations and discussed how to do more together.

My father believed that Russia would play a major role in world affairs. He first visited in 1970 and eventually came more than five times. Even after he retired as PM, he kept the links up. He served on the board of the SKOLKOVO - Moscow School of Management. He also was a keen supporter of the Russia-Singapore Business Forum.

So I am very happy to continue building on our good relations. Our trade has almost quadrupled in the last ten years. But in absolute size, it is still not huge.
That is why Singapore signed an MOU with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) yesterday. I hope this will pave the way for an FTA between Singapore and the region.
Beyond trade, today we signed two MOUs: one between the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and the Russian Ministry of Culture, and the other between Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and the Russian Academy of Sciences.
