2014 marked two decades since the atrocities of the Rwandan Genocide -- the catastrophic period of 1994 that saw an estimated 800,000 Rwandans systematically murdered. Several Magnum photographers were on the ground for news outlets back then, taking the pictures that conveyed the horrific nature of the event to the rest of the world. And this year, Magnum's #CarlDeKeyzer went to Rwanda to document the country's commemorative ceremonies, as well as a culture that must cope with the memories of their nation's past. De Keyzer captured this photograph in the city of Kigali -- a blind musician at an awards ceremony meant to "give respect and encouragement to the Rwandan artists and entertainers." #MAGNUMyearbook
