#yogagirlchallenge Day 5 is coming up tomorrow! The theme is Break A Bad Habit and thats exactly what i want you to do. Pick one thing that you do on a regular basis that you'd like to quit or cut down on. It could be drinking coffee, soda or alcohol, smoking, consuming sweets, fried foods or mindless snacking, fidgeting with your phone or constantly being on social media (yes, i see the irony in posting that for an Instagram challenge!), procrastinating, snoozing or arriving late to work, biting your nails... Anything you'd like to stop! I like to say; "if it's not serving you - let it go" and we all have at least one habit that we repeat daily that's not serving us. Choose wisely and make it something important! You have a big, beautiful community here to support you. We will all be quitting something - hopefully for the remaining of this challenge - so now is the perfect time to do it! If the very thought of quitting this habit makes you a little nervous it means it's a good one. Don't pick something that feels easy but go for a big one. We tend to attach to habits, routines and addictions as a way to comfort us and to distract us from the work that needs to be done within. Whenever we get stressed, sad or anxious we turn to our bad habit (a glass of wine, a pint of ice cream, a cigarette, what have you) and it gives us a false sense of security that lasts only briefly. Truth is that those emotions arise because there is something you need to look at and something you need to resolve or work on. Do the work! Feel what you need to feel. Don't escape. Let's release the weight of our bad habits and focus our attention on healing what needs to be healed! Tell the world what your bad habit or addiction is and why you want to quit it - saying it out loud is the first step to letting it go. Announcing it to your friends and family helps you take it seriously and also gives others a chance to support you along the way. Let's do this!
