We took this picture the day before I left for Aruba to start my life with Dennis. I didn't know it yet, I had only spent five days with him on an island I knew nothing about but I had a feeling and so did you. We took your car and went for a long roadtrip and ended up in a hotel room with three dogs and two chickens (don't ask). I can't help but laugh when I think about those weeks. Absolutely mad and wonderful and we cried and laughed so much and people kept asking is if we were twins even though we look nothing alike. But then I look at this picture and I see it. Same same. Gemelas.
This was the last day of our trip and we spent the whole day in the water and you added an extra layer to the braid you made me a year earlier and I added to the one I made you. You still have yours, I cut mine off just three months ago. So strange. I never ever get my hair cut but someone offered to fix my hair and I decided it was time to cut the last dread. It started as a braid you made and ended up a long long wrapped dread six years later. I don't know why I suddenly got rid off it, maybe to prepare? I don't know. Anyway. This was a magical day and we drank a lot of tequila that evening and went dancing and stayed up til the sun rose. The next afternoon you couldn't find your car keys (you could never find your car keys) and we spent two hours in panic looking all around town thinking I was going to miss my flight. Some crazy navy seals we met the night before offered to hotwire your car and just as they broke the door open someone came with your keys. Of course. You drove me to the airport and hugged me and said "good luck macha! Maybe this is the one!" and off I went to Aruba to see some guy I barely knew. And now it's four years later and he is sitting next to me at Panama airport holding my hand telling me everything is going to be ok.

I miss you. I miss you I miss you I miss you. Right now it's ok that it hurts because I feel you in every heartbeat.
