I love doing it - the topics, the team, just everything is *chefs kiss* 😘 Definitely got more emotional than I expected about the NHS, but honestly how dare Rishi Sunak try to blame the NHS waiting list on strikes instead of their own failings. How dare he try and take us for fools! In 2013 there were no strikes and the waiting list was 2 1/2 million. In 2020 there were no strikes and no pandemic and the waiting list was 4 1/2 million. Don't let them fool you - the waiting lists are because of Tory incompetence. They were warned for years they needed to employ more nurses to avoid a staffing crisis and they refused. Then they cut the bursary for nursing degrees. Anne Milton, then the health minister responsible for the NHS workforce, said fewer nurse trainees were needed and that taking on any more would lead to unemployed nurses: “A reduction in commissions is necessary to avoid a significant oversupply in the nursing workforce.” NHS are striking not just because of pay and conditions, which by the way is vital to attract more people into the life saving professions, but also because they are unable to provide duty of care to patients. They are fighting because they care about us. Unlike this government. We clapped for them in 2021 and now we need to clap for them again by supporting strike action. The only people responsible for sh*t in our water, crumbling schools, and huge waiting lists - are this government. Anyway, rant over. Got upset because I am sick of their lies and scared for the future of our healthcare. I'm also breastfeeding and due on my period so hormones are raging! 💁🏼‍♀️ Also loved the team today - what a legend Alan Johnson is! But the biggest shout-out goes to Jilli who was Ada's childminder for the day.
