Today photography is much easier than the time-consuming daguerrotype process he invented. Anyone with a camera in their phone now has the ability to capture photos and share them instantly. We take pictures in an instant and for any purpose. Yet photography is also a creative activity, and that is what I like to practice and to teach. I invite you to join me for my upcoming photography workshop, “Creative Photography Without Bounds,” on November 4 and 5 in Santa Cruz, California. We’ll provide participants with techniques meant as shortcuts to creativity. I made the first image in this post by rotating my camera during a multiple exposure. For the second image, I panned my camera across a field of wildflowers during a long exposure. If you like these results, consider joining us for our weekend program.
