This species Ramazzottius kretschmanni is newly discovered and was first described in 2022. It was found in the Black Forest National Park, Germany. This waterbear is about 0,25mm in lenght and feeds on algues and moss. It was found in moss on dead tree trunks and is able to withstand long phases of drought. Scanning electron microscope, magnification 1000:1 (when 15cm wide)
