Bamboo leaves are carefully folded and filled, in this case with seasoned rice, pork belly and 梅干 a type of cabbage that is salted, fermented and sun dried. Customers can buy these to take away and steam at home. Different regions of the Sinosphere will have different fillings ranging from chicken, pork, salted egg or even sweet varieties like red bean.
