アリサ・ラモスさんのインスタグラム動画 - (アリサ・ラモスInstagram)「Most people post about the pretty resorts of Boracay…all I’ve got is my fascination with the abandoned and half demolished ones. 😳🤷‍♀️ I did zero research on Boracay bc I was just going there as a workcation (when I have down time in between work trips but still need to work from my laptop so I pick somewhere beautiful) Therefore I had no idea what I was seeing when I randomly ventured away from the popular “White Beach” area, and through a bunch of what I thought were old ruins 🤦‍♀️😂 Turns out they are new ruins, and they are the result of the Philippine govs order that any establishment within a certain distance to the shore had to be immediately demolished because it was polluting the water and nature of the island. Boracay is one of the infamous over-tourism destinations that suddenly became popular then humans destroyed it. I remember specifically not going here when it was popular, and going to places like El Nido instead, but now El Nido is popular too (and I’m guilty for taking part in making it so), so the question remains how to balance it all. Anyway, this area of Boracay is actually very dangerous bc of all the crumbling structures. Please don’t go here by foot like I did (#badinfluence), and if you do want to see it, or the beautiful now-nearly-abandoned beaches, take a kayak with a guide and stay away from the actual structures! Also, I didn’t like White Beach. Most ppl do but not my vibe. Abandoned beach was my favorite part of this trip. Also again, while I LOVE the Philippines and Filipinos, this remains the number one country where i get asked if I’m alone and also WHY I’m alone.
