アリサ・ラモスさんのインスタグラム動画 - (アリサ・ラモスInstagram)「Waterfalls in remote areas are one of my favorite world wonders! This one in Papua New Guinea required a flight, bus, two boats, and a jungle trek to get to! Located in the Milne Bay province, this was part of our adventure to go see the skull caves (see previous post on cannibalism history in PNG), which are located nearby. We paid a very small local community to be there and guide us to their waterfall, and the little kids decided to join, I think mostly to giggle the entire time as they repeated common phrases that their few American and Aussie guests say, like “Oh my gawwdd” 😂 Although they don’t get many guests, it makes me extremely happy that for a community that’s only accessible by small boat, they can profit from the travelers and adventurers who seek such beauty in rare locations 💖 The walk through the jungle was raw and lush, and again, one of the few places I’ve been on earth with this type of natural abundance that’s not destroyed by humans (PNG has the third largest jungle/rainforest after Amazon and DRC, both of which I have also been to). I was barefoot because my shoes broke, but after walking through the jungle barefoot and into the waterfall, I think I’ll always opt to hike that way, as I felt a lot more connected with the earth. Experiences like these are ones I’ll cherish forever, and strive to get as many other wanderlust adventurers to have as well!
