Shiranoe Botanical Garden in Kitakyushu City is a park where you can enjoy looking at around 800 cherry blossoms of 60 varieties. Somei Yoshino cherry trees and Kawazu cherry blossoms are in full bloom from early-March till late-April, including the 450-year-old Shiranoe Sakura that is a natural monument designated by the prefecture. It is said that the reason why it they are so popular is that you can enjoy various forms as you can view the cherry blossoms over a long period of time.
