Scientists use calories to measure how much energy you can get out of your food.

1970’s era nutritionists tried to trick you into eating food without enough energy so you would lose weight…but they didn’t care about how much energy you had.

Ask yourself: do you want to have more energy or less energy? When people tell you to eat less calories, they tell you to eat food that won't provide enough energy.

Calories are not good or bad, and they don’t make you fat. Different types of food make you more or less fat whether or not they have more or less calories. It’s always been this way.

If you don't believe me, just have a kale salad with no dressing and see how full you feel. You'll be so hungry that you’re unable to resist the temptation of doughnuts.

It’s kind of obvious when you think about it: 100 calories of grass-fed meat has a far different impact on your body than 100 calories of corn syrup.

When you know what kind of meat to eat, and you stop worrying about calories, you give yourself permission to eat in a way that leaves you full and satisfied so you won’t think about food until your next meal.

The meat has to be grass-fed if you want this to work. Can you tell if the meat in this picture is grass-fed? Neither can I. That's why it pays to pay close attention to where you get your meat.

If it's not grass-fed and grass-finished, it's going to make you fat and hungry. If it's grass-fed, it's going to make you live longer, even with calories.

Also, as a side perk, grass-fed animals build healthy soil, which is required to grow healthy vegetables. It's an ecosystem—and it’s how nature works.

Eat to feel tons of energy and no hunger. Not too often. Calorie counts are a rounding error!
