It’s fun to go and search for them all. There are lots of interesting shops to check out too. Like a hand-baked rice cracker shop and a coffee shop that roasts its own coffee beans! ✨  Kitakata City is also home to one of the top three ramen types of Japan, Kitakata ramen. It is so delicious and light that apparently people even eat it for breakfast and call it “Asa-Ra.” Ramen is such a big deal that there is even a ramen shrine where the tori gate is shaped like huge chopsticks holding noodles up. Here you can try ramen ice cream, which is super unique! 🍥🍜🍦  While in Kitakata you should also check out Shingu Kumano Shrine. It’s a very beautiful and quiet place. It is most popular in Autumn when the huge gingko tree changes into a brilliant golden color. However, I am a fan of the winter and snowy scenery of the shrine.
