This evening began as usual in these days…going in the archive to find meaning and came across this photograph. How landscapes, even this, often bore me. I can't just view from a distance, lying to myself these orange-painted mountains in the Saudi Arabian sands, no matter how big or grand, that I am giving enough to nature or the story. In the beyond, this need for layers and meaning. Sure, I'm thankful these friendly pigeons circled once more before returning. Metal tins repurposed as penthouses perched upon poles at a desert farm in the middle of somewhere in the center of nowhere. So what. As in life, flavor possibilities of food, unexplored intonations in music and literature, how might we dance, could sing, or run a shoe store in a mall. Something is missing if we accept liking our limitations of seeing as sufficient. In recent months, I've been reading books on the universe and quantum mechanics. No...I am a feeble one ever to imagine understanding it all. This need to find answers, going into the black holes of the universe that connects to the vast hole within ourselves we're too weak to explore. Accepting where we stand, where we are, is the image or the answer in all possible dimensions. Afraid to risk perceptions beyond what we have already known, so possibly one day, finding the quantum within ourselves. The work and meaning we're here to do.
