Expectations, standards, morals - whatever you want to call it be firm in how you police it. We often put up with things we know are wrong, unhealthy and not good for us simply to please others, because we think it’s a one-off and won’t happen again or we just don’t have the energy or enthusiasm to deal with it right here and now. But anything in life that isn’t RIGHT for us will only ever be WRONG for us, the problem will only worsen and wear us down with time. Nip it in the bud now, cut it off before it begins and save yourself the blood sweat and tears of allowing something to drag on and get worse over time by never allowing it in the first place. The sooner you recognise your worth, set your boundaries and hold others accountable to your standards the clearer, healthier and happier your life will be. If they/it fail to meet your criteria say “thank you, next” and move on.
