Thing is? I was sick as a dog. I had recorded an early version of these two I think in spring of 2000. But when the second leg of Voodoo hit east coast mid summer James said “Gotta come in to re record” (James left Voodoo 1st leg to go back and work w E while I stayed w D) so we had an Atlantic City date & 2 days off which is basically saying “we had 3 days in Philly” I was REAL sick so i told em “I’ll be done in Sept just lemme do it then” James was like “bruh, that door may close” & I was like dealin w like green slime/w blood coughing all over the place. I was like “I can’t bro” 12:30am Erykah calls. 🤨🤨🤨🤨🤨🤢 cut to a car picking me up and arriving to Electric Lady 2am. Mind you I gotta run BACK to Philly to pack and make 10am bus call. All I remember was Erykah made me a jug of tea so hot I couldn’t even sip it. She also sent for a bunch of tissues and a big trash can to be at my drum set. I don’t know WHAT was in that tea but I imagine it was onions & turmeric, & pepper & ginger & vinegar & garlic & wait what that a ladybug??!?!?」11月23日 4時29分
