I can hear the whispers and murmurs of my heart in this space. Ever more needed it is in the passing months. The kindest gift I have given myself and my loved ones is this time of ritual. I feel more myself when I make room for it. Time is among the most valuable of jewels and where I lend it matters. This lengthy chapter of a year has taught me the bare bones of where to sow my beads of time and what I need to let go of in order to do that. Time spent on my phone, DMs, texts and emails have taken a huge cut, but in exchange I’ve felt more peace, noticed the songs of birds, improved my chess skills, journaled and painted more, snuggled with my little one more, taken my time preparing meals to be savoured, and simply enjoying all the little moments that so easily pass in a day. Life is fuller now, even amidst sheltering in place. A cherished lesson. It’s okay to let go, say no, change, assert and decide. The exchange rate will not disappoint. 🕯 . . . .
