There are certain moments that I cannot fully savour until it has processed through my being as if the moment itself were a fresh brook running. Not a standstill entity or mere fingerprint in time, but a living current that continues and takes on different form as it flows through the watershed of days. Lately I’ve been traversing back to desert moons though I wonder if my chapter there just simply continued on in me. When I revisit certain moments back there, it is from the person I have grown into now, not the version from then. It is rather a miraculous sort of time travel. There are details that left me entirely unmoved from the present moment of back then but somehow my brain stored it all anyway, and now in hindsight those very uninspired details grow bones and sinews and I am left in awe. Newness in the old and tattered and the wonder of where our footsteps have been. More paradox. Standing present with bare feet touching the earth of right now and yet still experiencing newness unfolding in the hindsight and totality of where we’ve been and where we are.
