High up in the trees in tropical jungles throughout Asia, female common birdwing butterflies spend their mornings perched among the foliage. In search of potential mates, males will circle above them before performing an elaborate courtship dance for the female of their choosing. Later in the day, males and females can be seen together fluttering around flowering bushes and trees where they can consume their fill of nectar. As evening approaches, the butterflies will disperse in order to find an ideal resting spot where they will spend the night.
