I’m a fan of a red lip. There’s something about it that’s so assertive. It makes me feel bold.

Throughout history women have used a red lip to rebel and to illustrate through the power of the cosmetics they wear that they have choices.

Elizabeth Arden stood on Fifth Avenue and gave out free tubes of red lipstick to women during the suffragette march through the city. The bright red became a symbol of independence and liberation.

For every woman, as Audrey Hepburn famously said, there is a shade of red.
