This group of birds has forty species that are incredibly varied, like these three examples: 1) Blue Bird-of-Paradise performing upside down display; 2) Westen Parotia performing ballerina display; 3) King Bird-of-Paradise displaying. So of course they are featured in my new book “New Guinea: Nature and Culture of Earth’s Grandest Island”, published by Princeton Univ Press, and available now at the link in bio.
