I used to be shy and afraid of everything in life, worried terribly about what other people would think of me and my choices. But worrying didn’t get me anywhere, it didn’t make anything better, in fact it just held me back from being my true self and delayed my growth. Now I no longer worry about things outside of my control and life is so much happier. Don’t stress over what you can’t change, put your effort and energy into the things that you can change instead - your own life! In finding my self confidence and self worth, each time that I took another step forwards I knew that I would never be able to take a step back again - to truly find myself and what makes me happy is far healthier than pretending to be something I’m not just to please others who are still unhappy in themselves. Hurt people hurt people. To break free of such a weight is euphoric and whilst I am thankful to have reached this level of elevation in my own journey, it’s almost meant that things I would have been ok with before are not ok now because my standards and expectations have risen along with my self worth. The higher you regard your own heart the easier it is to weed out the people in life who do not deserve you; always hold your head and standards high and keep your circle small. Eventually we may all learn to love ourselves and in doing so can allow ourselves to be truly loved in return by somebody genuinely true. Until then life will serve us lessons in the hope of educating us in the warning signs to look out for regarding those who do not deserve us.
