Whether you cross them or burn them down they are undoubtedly metaphoric decisions that we must all make in life. “What happens if you fall in love with somebody else one day instead of me?” “Let’s cross that bridge when we come to it babe!” - one of my favourite bridges in life is the bridge of fidelity. Because to break it you really have to cut it down, it doesn’t just break by itself, it’s a conscious deliberate action that only you can take and it undoubtedly takes a very strong and confident person to remain faithful to their partner and refuse to cross that bridge in favour for standing tall where they are. Because of social media the world is far more connected now than ever, relationships are disposable and people are easily replaced by the next person that comes along to like up all your pics or slide into your DMs. Indeed, bodies are transient and meaningless in our world, just meat and bones wrapped up in a pretty dressing to please our temporary highs but that will burn out too and we shall seek the next high to fill whatever emptiness we feel. Something that isn’t disposable however is the infinite soul, the true worth and beauty of somebody as an individual that can never be matched, duplicated nor replaced no matter how hard you try or how far you search to find it in others. What we all have is the uniqueness of our soul, the energy that we embody, the way that we make others feel without having to say a word and that’s what’s unforgettable. Whenever you think of somebody you instantly think of how they make you feel - just as whenever you think of a decision in life, like a bridge, you think about what it would be like to cross it or burn it down and then you make your decision.
