Photo by @stephen_matera A creek cascades over rocks toward an alpine lake in the Wind River Range. The mountains, or the Winds as they are known, are a subrange of the Rocky Mountains. They are less known than their Teton siblings, but they are a bigger range that also contains the highest peak in Wyoming, Gannett Peak (not shown here), at over 13,800 feet (4,206 meters). The Winds have more than 150 alpine glaciers and over a thousand lakes.
