Photo by @RussLaman. This spring, my son Russell and I partnered to document bluebirds nesting in boxes he constructed at a nearby nature reserve. We documented the whole nesting cycle, right up to the fledging of the four chicks as they took their first flight. I like this shot by @RussLaman, because it really sums up the last couple days before the chicks came out. The excited male stopped feeding the chicks and kept calling and encouraging them to come out. He seemed to think they were ready to fledge. The female kept spoiling them with food, so they stayed put and kept us waiting. Tomorrow we head up to Maine to film birds for the #CornellLabofOrnithology. Stay tuned to see what we capture!
