I’ve spent this week listening deeply to the wisdom and insights of the BIPOC community and First Nations People. I’ve been leaning into the uncomfortable conversations, and sitting in compassion and empathy, with a willingness to listen and learn without ego. Without imposing my thoughts onto another’s experience. . What I have awakened to is the absolute need to speak up against racism, the many implications of systemic racism and racist policies, and the need for reform here in Australia. In the process of my learning, my white privilege and my own unconscious behaviors were brought into the forefront of my awareness. . This is only the start of my heart work. And I will not shy away or stop doing this work. It was, it is, and always will be a time to learn, to listen, and to be ok with being uncomfortable when we must speak up in the face of injustice. That is where my heart calls me. There are a million reasons why.  First and foremost #aboriginallivesmatter #blacklivesmatter . I hope you will join me to speak up against racism. Let’s not be silent because we are afraid of getting it wrong because we most likely will and that’s part of the learning journey. . Let’s make donations and sign petitions. Let’s reach out to our local communities on ways to help and use our voice and vote wisely. Start reading.
