On view for the very first time tomorrow! 👀 This is the only known surviving example of ‘Les Peintres-Graveurs’ - a remarkable nineteenth century album of 22 prints by Impressionist and post-Impressionist artists including Bonnard, van Rysselberghe, Renoir, Munch, Vuillard, Maurice Denis and many more. It will be exhibited in London ahead of the auction on Tuesday 17 September.
At the heart of the portfolio is an exceptional impression of Edward Munch’s ‘Anxiety’. Considered a variation of ‘The Scream’, the subject was the first colour lithograph ever produced by the artist, who went on to become one of history’s most prolific and successful printmakers. #SothebysPrints
