For our next #SothebysOutofOffice, we're heading to the banks of the River Thames in Twickenham, where English writer, historian and antiquarian Horace Walpole built his idyllic Gothic Revival Castle. @strawbhillhouse was said to have inspire Walpole’s novel, The Castle of Otranto, after he was struck by a vivid nightmare. The novel was the very first of its kind, and marked the beginning of the Gothic genre.

Among the photos featured here is the magnificent picture gallery, with a ceiling in papier-mâché based on the ceiling of Henry VII Chapel at @westminsterabbeylondon - snapped by Jewellery Specialist @justinroberts1747. The house is open from Sunday to Wednesday.
