Originally part of a larger suite of #furniture as depicted in a watercolor from 1822 by William Hunt, they were commissioned for the saloon at Devonshire House in London. Today, the chairs are displayed in the Library at @chatsworthofficial. Also pictured is a George III music stand. Most likely manufactured by Ince & Mayhew this was one of four stands supplied in 1786, during the lifetime of Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, who was a talented musician and regularly performed for friends and family.
