Have you ever heard of Swinhoe’s Pheasant (Lophura swinhoii)? This bird, which is found in Taiwan, is a creature of habit: it often walks the same feeding route along the forest floor to find snacks like acorns, berries, worms, and termites. To tell the difference between a male and female, check the coloring: Males have a mix of blue, white, and green plumage, as well as long tail feathers, while females are mostly brown. During courtship rituals, males show off their bright red wattles, flutter their wings, and do a dance in hopes of attracting a mate.

Weirdest waddle I’ve ever seen. It looks like he’s wearing some kind of helm made of short fur or velvet.
