Like other species of titi monkeys, the ornate titi lives in family groups which consist of parents and their offspring. They are highly territorial, defending their space from intruders by shouting and giving chase. Titi monkeys are also known to vocalize synchronously early in the morning, announcing their presence within their established territory. Within eastern Colombia, this species occurs in an area facing intense human colonization, and as a result, the monkeys have been subject to widespread habitat destruction and fragmentation.
