Sometimes one of the best actions we can take to help save wildlife like these Francois langurs @theomahazoo is to share their story with as many people as we can, bringing attention to the threats they are facing in the wild. In Northeastern Vietnam, these remarkable primates are hunted for traditional medicine. Logging for timber and farming also threatens their existence. In Southern China, hunting pressure is very high due the production of 'black ape wine' which is made specifically from this species. Eliminating demand for products made from these remarkable primates is the first step towards achieving positive change. #langur #endangeredspecies #primate #blackandwhite #duo #china #vietnam #photoark #savetogether

I can’t believe how many species are endangered because of “traditional medicine”... it makes me so mad and disappointed with the human race. What can we do to stop these people that are willing to pay thousands (millions?) for a placebo?

Hah!.........& HUMANS are s'posed to be a little higher than the animal???????!!!!!! Some don't act like it!!!!! Animals have 'instinct' and act smarter than some human's power of reasoning.!

I do not understand! Black ape wine. What or how is this animal processed to make wine. Maybe a true tv broadcast. For myself, My stomach churns??. I cannot get past the thought

Saw you on 60 minutes and saw the pictures and realized I already followed you! It’s like the photography world is small when you’re really passionate

Sick, sick humans. Fuck their cultural beliefs. Make wine out of grapes, medicine out of plant.

the best you can do is raise awareness to the systems that are exploiting their natural habitat
