On view right now in Zurich: Swiss Art / Swiss Made! Jacques-Laurent Agasse was famed for his ability to capture everyday scenes, and after training with #jacqueslouisdavid, became one of the most celebrated painters of animals at the start of the 19th century.
In this painting, Visit to the farm, which hails from the extraordinary Asbjorn Lunde collection, #Agasse exquisitely conveys the simple pleasures of fresh milk and fresh air. The work - which can be admired in our Zurich gallery until Sunday - will be offered during our upcoming auction of Swiss Art in #Zurich on 25 June.
The sale includes nine works from the prestigious collection of Asbjorn Lunde – one of the greatest collectors of 19th century Swiss and Norwegian paintings, whose passion for Alpine landscapes was matched only by his desire to share them with his family and the wider art-loving public.
