1. Barbell pull up: the more you bend your knees the easier it will be! Remember with any pull up/practicing pull ups think about using your lats (muscles in your back) and not your arms.
2. Dead hangs are great because it will help you strengthen your grip and also teach you how to retract your lats and shoulders. You can notice me doing it at the beginning of the video. Hold on for as long as you can!
3. Once you’ve mastered dead hangs and barbell pull ups jump up to the bar and practice your negatives while keeping your shoulders retracted!
4. Assisted pull ups using a band will help you keep strict form through your pull ups while minimizing your body weight. The heavier the band the easier it will be!
5. Pull ups! Keep your hands about shoulder distance apart. Breathing is SO important so breath out as you pull up. DO NOT HOLD YOUR BREATH! Keep your core tight to keep you from swinging and remember don’t think about your arms pulling you up! .
