Scared, alone, frightened for the future, suffocated by responsibility and buried beneath grief and anxiety, the fear of the unknown with nobody to save me or take care of me. Instead of sticking my head in the sand to escape my reality I faced up to my deepest fears and challenges and looked them straight in the eye refusing to back down. I chose to become bigger and stronger than the things which threatened me, to create strength, power and courage with the ashes of what had hurt me. One of the hardest things I have overcome in life is rebuilding my self esteem and self worth after having spent years upon years being told that I was ugly and worthless. I have a rising Phoenix tattooed onto my ribs which bursts through the flames and flies into the clouds with a dove of peace. We do not have to accept the negative judgement of others, their unkind, selfish and jealous words do not define the person that we are - only our actions can do that!
