I used to always make excuses for guys I liked, and think it made be a good, empathetic person to stand by them or try to fix them. Now I realise, it didn't make me a better person, it made me a pushover. It showed I had low self-worth. We all know deep down that when someone likes you, you know about it. There's no confusion or excuses. The only person you should be fixing is yourself, and you deserve to be treated with respect regardless of what excuses someone tells you. You are worth respect, and you need to believe that. 👸🏼 Last year I let someone lead me on for months and an older lady said this to me: "you don't really love him, you just want him, like you wanted a Barbie doll as a child. He doesn't make you happy or bring you joy, so you know deep down he's not right for you. You just want him." It's really stuck with me. 🤯 Stop entertaining the fu*k boy (or girl) doll, they're draining your energy (and probably your long-suffering friends' energies that have to keep listening to you tell the same story) and lowering your self-esteem. Don't text them back, delete their number, and treat tomorrow as a new chapter. They are never going to change, because if they respected you they wouldn't be treating you badly in the first place. People treat you how you allow them to, and sometimes people just do not deserve you, nevermind your heart or body. You'll get over them soon enough, and you'll feel more powerful once you have control of your emotions back.
