I have been debating whether I wanted to share this on social media and have decided to do so because I’ve always wanted to be real and transparent with you all. Things haven’t been okay. The past few months have been, for lack of a better term, dreadful. On the night of the launch of DB Active, my mum was taken to hospital after a dizzy spell and was diagnosed with a brain tumour. And in that moment our world was turned upside down. It was the most agonising and almost surreal news I have ever heard. My mum was fit, healthy and happy and this just came out of nowhere.

The past few months have consisted of multiple trips to the hospital, a lot of tears and a lot of pain. I have kept this private so that myself and my family could deal with this the best we could, together.

My mum is my best friend, my right hand gal and has always helped and supported me in all my endeavours. She’s been there since day 1 (literally) and I don’t know what I would do without her. Mum was in hospital during the biggest launch of my career, I was packing order in between breakdowns. Late nights at the hospital followed by early mornings running our new business.

The doctors recommended that mum be in as fit and healthy a condition she could prior to surgery and you better believe she hit that gym hard. I was so proud (bootyyy gains). This week my mum had brain surgery and it was a success. This has been such a rollercoaster, we’re all exhausted. My heart goes out to anyone who has experienced family illness. I am so thankful for the incredible surgeons and staff at the Gold Coast hospital. I’m now sitting with her in hospital as I write this, her hand in mine as she turned to me and said: With you here, I don’t feel scared or uncomfortable. I’m happy. Because even though we may not be at our house, family will always be home.

Mum always sees the silver lining, one of the first things she said as she looked in the mirror post-surgery was: “I think they actually gave me a face lift”

Shoutout to my mumma for being strong as fk throughout all of this. You have always, and will always be my hero.
