Off to my left I spotted a fellow in his field, a geyser of water blasting before him. As would normally be, he immediately greeted when I approached, rearranging the astonishing sight I had seen before stopping. We talked a bit but my presence had altered his space and time...Rajib Kutum was no longer in a poem. - Some photographers might consider asking someone who has moved, to go back and stand here or there. It’s not necessarily unethical in portraiture to do so, but there is a power in allowing the natural energy to be, that can never be in arranging. - Here with some insight if you are ever in such a situation...learn to understand people’s body movements and their dimensional space. In this instance, I knew Rajib would have to go back to where he was when I first saw him from the road in White Lightening. The motor of his pump would sooner or later have to be adjusted, and it would only be a matter of time. As life and the universe would have it, 10 minutes into our kind meeting, Rajib began to loose his curiosity of my curiosity, and walked back to work where he had originally been, on the other side of the gushing water - the throttle adjustment thingie was on that side of the green blaster and yes, it needed adjusting. As if time stood still, Rajib’s body language returned into the periphery I had originally met him in. - Friends, never set up your work. If you miss it, let it go. If you have a sense of your space and the energy of those around you, be patient. Wait. Remove yourself from yourself. The art of reality is not about you.
