Welcome to Borrego Springs, California where this year’s wildflower super bloom is in effect. “I’d never experienced anything quite like it,” said #nytimes California Today correspondent Jill Cowan. Jill recently visited the #superbloom with John Francis Peters, a San Diego-based photographer. Over the course of the day, they came across hikers from across the globe, including Sweden and Canada. Cindy English, who brought her dog, Wilma, from San Diego, said she’d been heading to the desert to see wildflowers for decades.
