Today we made a very big announcement: the largest and most important work of French Academic painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s celebrated career, ‘La Jeunesse de Bacchus’, will highlight our marquee May auctions in #NYC. The monumental canvas stands an impressive 20 feet in length and 11 feet in height, and until now had left the artist’s studio in Paris only three times since it was completed in 1884. ‘La Jeunesse de Bacchus’ will have a special early viewing in our #NYC galleries, opening on March 14 alongside our Asia Week sales series – make plans to come visit us on York Avenue! #SothebysImpMod #Bouguereau
