British artist Sue Barnes produced much of her photography in secret, working alone in her South London flat where she captured numerous stunning self-portraits. It was only towards the end of the artist’s life that she began to think seriously about exhibiting and, following her untimely death in 2014, her works have been the subject of reassessment - a conceptual feminist of the 1970s who used photography to explore themes of identity and her obsessions.

This untitled work from Barnes’ ‘Bath Series’ will go on view alongside an eclectic host of artists this #ValentinesDay, as part of @sothebys_s2_london’s new show which touches upon themes of the erotic, the body, #Surrealism, performance, and theatricality in art.
