Back in November, I was invited to the Glamour Women of the Year Summit as a guest of @paragard_iud. I heard so many incredible women speak who are personal inspirations to me, and though the event wasn't about parenting, there was one quote about motherhood that stuck with me.  One of the speakers said, "I used to think I couldn't wait to have time for myself without my kids. Now that they're almost grown, I just look for every opportunity I can to be with them and make myself available to them." I was not expecting to cry at the @Glamour Magazine Summit! I guess I'm at that stage of parenting (past the baby/toddler part of motherhood— hence the Paragard partnership!) when I understand why people tell moms to treasure every moment.  It might sound cliché and you might not want to hear it when your kid is throwing a tantrum in the middle of a supermarket, but I promise, you will get it and feel it eventually too. Consider this a warning! Thank you @paragard_iud for the opportunity to be in the company of so many amazing women and for helping give women like me the power to make our own choices about when to have children, when to stop having children or if to have children at all.
