Honoured to officially open @wgeylangserai yesterday evening! It has been a long journey since I announced the project in 2011. I have been keeping a close eye on it. My thanks to the government agencies, community and private sector groups, advisers and residents who have worked together to make WGS a reality. WGS will be a landmark in Geylang Serai, one of Singapore’s oldest Malay settlements and a key part of our national heritage. It will strengthen the cultural identity of the area, and reflect the diverse interests and continuing progress of the Malay community.
