President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump visit a memorial outside Pittsburgh's Tree of Life Synagogue on Oct. 30 to honor the victims of Saturday's mass shooting, which left 11 people dead. When Air Force One touched down at the airport outside Pittsburgh, the Associated Press reports, the Trumps were not greeted by the usual phalanx of local officials that usually welcomes a visiting president. The White House said President Trump was coming to “express the support of the American people and to grieve with the Pittsburgh community.” But local and religious leaders were divided on whether he should be there, the AP adds. Rabbi Jeffrey Myers, who was conducting Sabbath services at the synagogue when the gunman opened fire, made clear that Trump would be welcome, telling CNN: “The president of the United States is always welcome.
